Some people get their exterior painted to beautify their home; others get their exterior painted to protect the exterior of their home. SNL Painting understands that both schools of thought are correct, and when we paint an exterior, we accomplish both tasks at once! Our exterior services typically include

Professional Exterior Work by SNL Painting
  • Power washing the exterior of the home to remove dirt, mildew, chalk, and loose paint.
  • Scraping of any remaining loose paint, and spot priming any bare wood or areas that require priming; i.e. damaged areas or repaired areas with new materials.
  • Caulking of gaps and cracks as required.
  • Careful protection of surfaces that are NOT to receive paint, such as decks, porches, patios, brick, windows, driveways, roofing, etc.
  • Siding and soffits are sprayed with two coats of premium exterior paint
  • Trim; i.e. fascia boards, shutters, doors, garage door trim, porch posts, etc. are brushed with 2 coats of premium exterior paint.
  • The jobsite is picked up at the end of each day, and all materials, tools and equipment are put in an area designated by you.
  • At the end of the job, all masking materials, painting materials, trash, etc. are cleaned up and thrown away.

Faux finishes are a beautiful addition to almost any space! They add depth, color, and style without damaging your walls like wallpaper would. When it’s time to change the look of the room, in most cases you can paint right over the faux finish without messy paper removal and damage to the walls! Faux Finishes typically include:

  • All of the items listed in the interior services, with the addition of a multiple coat system of glazes or textured finishes to achieve the look you desire! These are usually hand-applied, one-of-a-kind works of art!
  • All faux finishes come with a sample of the finish on a piece of drywall to give you a better idea of what the colors and technique you selected will look like in your space.

Don’t you wish that cedar or pressure treated deck or fence looked as good as the day it was installed? Well, of course you do! Now, let’s not go overboard here and ask that a 15 year old deck look like new, but most decks and fences in good condition can achieve a fantastic look when we are finished, and they will be protected from the weather, which protects your investment! The deck and fence restoration process includes:

  • A thorough power washing with high pressure cold water.
  • Staining of the deck or fence. Decks are brushed by hand with stain. We don’t like to spray decks for a couple of reasons:
  • Oil-based deck stains travel for a very long distance in the wind. With even the slightest wind, a fine mist of deck stain can end up on your siding, which is not usually where we want to put the stain! We also believe that with brushing, the finish is "worked in" to the wood better than spraying alone, producing a staining job that we (and you!) can be proud of.

We hate cracks in walls. We hate water damaged walls. We hate holes in walls. We’re pretty sure you do, too. SNL Painting can repair cracked tape joints in drywall, holes in drywall from a minor picture anchor hole, to, well, whatever it was that damaged your drywall. You can explain if you want, but you don’t have to! Rest assured that SNL Painting can repair it to a like-new condition. Wall repairs typically include:

  • Cracked tape joints and general drywall cracks are typically repaired with mesh tape followed by 3 coats of drywall compound. Then they are sanded smooth, spot primed, then painted with the topcoats of paint. If the walls are textured, we can reproduce most textures with great accuracy. Things like age, number of coats of paint, method of application, wear and tear, etc. may prevent the reproduced texture from being absolutely perfect, but when we are done, you will usually be hard pressed to find where the damage was.
  • Water and smoke stains are coated with an oil based stain killer prior to painting to block the stain from coming through the topcoats of paint.
  • Holes in drywall are repaired by removing the damaged drywall, replacing with new drywall and "taping" the new drywall in to the existing. Taping is the process of applying paper or mesh "tape" to the seams where the new and existing drywall meet, and applying drywall joint compound to smooth the transition between the new and old. This process usually requires three coats of drywall joint compound (commonly referred to as "mud") sanding, spot priming, and finally, painting.
